Back at it with the next chapter of me and Meika. So first of all this was a very tricky shot to pull off. Her car and the position of Meika made it so. Could be worse but hopefully the story makes up for that. Next time we're driving in a race I'll find a much easier source to use. Also it was a bit tricky to do this chapter as in the show it jumped from present to past but other than that I managed to get it down.

On a sour sad note, I'm still hearing how people are laughing behind my back in a mean way at my hard work. They are also trying to bring me down with their comments. They really hurt and has made me realized the people I thought I knew are just really cruel. But will this make me stop? Not at all. I have had to deal with bullies before in my youth and it wasn't fun being harassed and picked on like that. I don't take kindly to it. Also who's to tell me what to do and control the way I think? I've had that crap shoved at me all my life. It's time for me to take control of what I can. So let me do my thing. And if any comments are left on the submissions that tell me otherwise, how to think a certain way in a mean way, ones to put me down, or anything like that not only will the comment be deleted, the person will be blocked for a bit. After that I will unblock them but if they do it again, I will block them permanently. Consider that the only warning I'll give. Now let's see how this race turns out for me and Meika.

Racing World

Right on Time

The following day the Ark had landed at the next location. It was at Clockwork Invitational and on an island. The guests who were watching were excited for this. The entire race would take place inside the huge clock tower and among the many turning gears and parts. Everyone made sure to study up on this as there might be some places to use as shortcuts or jumps to pull ahead during it the race. Then it came time for them to get ready for this. Meelo was one of the last to boar onto the elevator with those from the RPG. He had tried to woo Vyxx but that hadn’t worked at all. He did learn that she, Pike, and Xeno went way back. But that was to be expected for those three. Soon everyone was in their car and being lowered down. “So what else can you tell me about this?” Nicholas asked his mechanic John through the communicator in his car.

“Well it’s like we discussed; nothing but sharp turns and corners,” the Doberman replied. “So you’re going to need to have control over your speed.”

“So a bit with slowing down and trying to find ways to get around them without crashing,” the husky stated. “Got it.” Tag when he heard Miles state that same thing complained that it was a race instead of agreeing.

They all went up to the starting line. “Well here we go!” Blitz commented as he was helping Becks and Beaks this time. “Now this is more my action; actual driving and not in VR!” That statement was why the flying fox had sat out the first race. But he had seen the results. “Now let’s get this ready to go and make the crowd roar!”

The drivers got ready and the starting light turned green. All the cars launched ahead. For this first part they weren’t in the tight curves yet so that meant a lot of speeding here could happen and even powers. “I’m going on ahead!” Florence stated.

The female swan activated her car’s power, Take Off. From the sides wings came out and then the avian waited for just the right moment and then her car jumped. “What a move!” Becks stated. Everyone else saw this in shock. Even the evil racers were to as her car was actually gliding beautifully in the air like a swan in flight.

The female landed ahead of the pack and gained ground. Sig saw this and chuckled. “Time to clear these chili peppers out!” the gorilla stated. The male activate his car’s power called Bongo Fire. The front of his car had a panel that retracted to reveal a hole that transformed into a muzzle with a tribal like design. The fire came out.

“Shit!” Jacob stated and moved out of the way. This move cost the rook dearly as his car went too far and crashed hard into one of the walls here. The guy was out of the race and he slammed a wing angrily down in frustration.

“Ouch! That’s gotta hurt!” Blitz stated before Becks could.

“Looks like that move has caused Jacob the race!” the goat said.

The other racers had gotten a little hit but were fine otherwise from Sig’s move. But now Axel and Victor were closing in on Florence with Pike, Vyxx, Xeno, and Razor right behind them. “I won’t fall behind again!” the Lyrie bird stated. But everyone saw the tight curves and twists were coming up so that meant no more powers for now.

“Looks like we’ve reached the next part!” Blitz stated. “Now let’s see some scrapped paint and nerves!”

This was where things began to get hairy. It was here that more of those from the Aispir City part were taken out of the race. During all the confusion, Tag landed in front of Pike and it was a bit of a hard one. “Oh!” Becks exclaimed. “That landing probably realigned Tag’s spine.”

The two had been fighting for the lead all day during this race. Now the two cars were side by side. Pike then glanced to Tag and with an evil smirk ran his car into the feline’s. The tiger managed to get around but Tag was so distracted Pike was able to get ahead of the feline. “You’re out of your league, boy,” the lupine stated with an evil smile.

Now it was a matter of navigating through the gears to get to the finish line. The agent and Razor were keeping an eye on Jessica and Meelo. The female had been knocked out of the race, but the male was still going strong and on Krom’s tail. It was like the chameleon was possessed. Meelo then managed to pull ahead of the crocodile. Razor noticed and heard how Becks and Blitz were commenting how if that chameleon kept driving like that, the male would have the race in the bag. “Not if I have anything to say about it,” the feline stated with an evil grin.

Meelo made it to a rising platform and so did Vyxx. But nothing came out of them looking at the other. Other than the male getting distracted by the hyena who shot ahead after the platform was finished rising up. Becks and Blitz pointed this out. “Focus! Focus!” the chameleon told himself angrily.

Just then someone else ran into his car. It was Meika. The vixen passed and sent the Meelo a knowing look like the female could tell what had happened. Razor saw the whole thing. “Well, well,” the feline stated. “It seems that vixen actually helped us without even realizing it. Now to focus on winning!” The guy shot forward, soon catching up to the head of the pack.

Meanwhile up ahead Florence was having trouble maintaining first and then fell behind. But on a winding path Axel and Victor were ahead with Nicholas and Sonny right behind them. Unlike in the VR race the husky had his glasses in tinted mode as it was for all races that were done in real life. “Sonny is giving Axel a run for his money,” Becks stated. “Same for Nicholas and Victor.”

“No special!” Beaks squawked.

“Er yes,” Blitz agreed.

“Good point, buddy,” the goat said. “In these tight spaces, there’s no room or time to activate their car’s special functions. It’s all down to skills and guts in here baby.”

The four were power drifting. But then Sonny and Nicholas felt their cars slip. “Oh shit!” the husky stated as he could tell this was going to end badly. The bear was panicking to as the same thing was happening to him.

“Those two are heading for the edge!” Blitz stated.

“They’re going to fall unless…” Becks began but then stopped. That was because from out of nowhere Mia came out and managed to stop Sonny’s car from falling with hers. Meika also appeared and did the same thing for Nicholas. “And Mia and the Bamboo Slicer save Sonny at the last second. So has Meika and the Belladonna with Nicholas. I’m sure you all remember Sonny’s horrific accident last season. We definitely don’t want a repeat of that.”

“That was too close,” the bear told the panda. “Thanks!”

“You know I got you back buddy,” she replied with a wink. “Now eat my dust!” The female shot forward with a laugh. Sonny got a grin as it was on now.

“Hey nice move there Meika!” Nicholas told the vixen in the meantime. “I owe you one!”

“I wasn’t going to let you fall!” she replied to him. “Now catch me if you can!” Meika shot forward with a laugh.

“Oh it’s on now Meika,” the husky stated with a grin.

Meanwhile Tag wasn’t having much luck out there as he was now at the end of the pack thanks to a mistake. But up ahead the rookies and Razor were in the lead. “Damn it all!” Daniel stated while driving. Rachel was by his side.

Victor finally had enough. “Time to break this up!” the Lyrie bird stated. He activated his car’s power as there was room now to do so. It was called Phoenix Cry and from the front of his car two speaker like objects came out. A blast of sound was sent out, hitting those in front but the feline, Pike, Vyxx, and Zeno. This caused the rest from Aispir City ahead to be knocked out of the race. That left only Nicholas left and he was still behind along with Mia. The husky had managed to get around Meika and saw the whole thing along with the panda. “Well now, less competition,” the canine said.

“Looks like the rookies might run away with this one as well,” Becks stated. “What do you think? Should we just call the season for them?”

“Repeat!” the parrot replied.

“Oh ho ho, I agree,” Blitz laughed. “Some might not count the others out. But it does look like the rookies may have it in the bag!”

Behind the rookies and Razor, Axel was close on their trial with Tamira behind him and then Victor. Nicholas was closing in to. Mia was following with Meika and Sonny next. That left Meelo and Krom behind with Tag bringing up the rear. But now this was where Miles began to help the tiger get ahead by pointing out points to use to his advantage. The guy passed Meelo and Krom. Then he was able to do the same for Tamira. Even though she would probably lose the race, the pantheress watched him drive off. “Nicely played,” she stated meaning the tiger.

Tag was then informed that Meika and Sonny were up ahead with Mia close. “Sonny!” the vixen stated, spotting the feline. “Look who decided to join us!”

“Hey Tag!” the bear called to him. “Didn’t like the view from the back?”

“Nah, I always prefer how things look up from the front,” the feline replied.

The tiger began to use his car’s power. “He’s about to jump!” Meika stated. She and Sonny were almost on Mia’s tail and the panda noticed these things.

“Not if I can help it,” Sonny replied with a grin.

“W-w-w-wait! Don’t!”

“You wouldn’t!” Mia exclaimed.

“Sorry guys!” the bear said. He activated his car’s power. Tag pulled back but Meika and Mia got hit. The two females felt the blow and were knocked off the track and out of the race. Sonny saw that he had missed Tag.

“Wha? Where did he-“

The answer was the feline ramming into Sonny’s car and being sent out of the race. “Nice try Sonny,” Tag said. “Say hi to Meika and Mia for me.” The tiger shot ahead.

He then saw that Axel was ahead as Nicholas and Victor had managed to get past him. The avian was trying to get through some tricky gears. This was where Tag used his car’s power to jump through them and get ahead. Now it was just him behind Nicholas, Victor, Razor, and the other three. “Looks like he caught up,” the avian stated, noticing the tiger.

“Time to clear those four up ahead,” the husky said. “If you don’t want to get hit, move out of the way.”

“I will this one time; take them out for both of us!” The canine prepared to fire his car’s ability but Razor noticed.

“Pike!” the feline told the lupine thanks to their car’s communications being linked up. “Seems that husky is planning to take us out! I’ll give this one to you three but you owe me next time!”

“Do it!” the wolf ordered. Razor pulled back and positioned his car so all Nicholas could hit was him.

“What the hell?!” the husky stated. It was too late and Razor got hit by the attack. Nicholas, Victor, and Tag were now behind the three rookies with the tiger having pulled ahead.

Here the tiger and canine heard from their mechanics how these three rookies acted a synch unit in their aggressive driving. “Tag, me and Victor have used up our abilities!” Nicholas told the feline.

“He’s right,” Miles told the tiger. “Whatever you plan to do, you better do it now.”

“Let’s get them to break formation,” Tag stated and closed in. Pike noticed the company in his rearview mirrors.

“Well, whada you know?” the lupine stated. “The kid’s back and has friends. Vyxx, Xeno, get into position.”

“Finally some action!” the hyena stated gleefully.

She and the toad drove so Tag was in between them and Pike with Nicholas and Victor behind. “What is that bastard planning?” the husky growled, looking very carefully.

Tag was just as surprised. “Ho-ho, we’re not done yet,” the lupine said evil and activated his car’s power. The result was now that there were two more of his on the track.

“So that’s it huh?” Nicholas stated. “Now I get it, he doesn’t have to guts to face opponents head on. He rather confuse them. Well such a trick won’t work on me now that I’ve seen it.”

Becks, Beaks, and Blitz noticed this and made comments on it. Vyxx and Zeno then moved in, ramming into Tag, pushing him closer towards Pike and the other two versions of his car ahead. “These guys…” Victor said with a glare. “That’s not the way to race!”

“We can’t catch up to them in time!” the husky exclaimed.

But Tag managed to get out of the situation. He applied the brakes and then pulled to the right. Vyxx went forward and hit one of the fake cars. The result was that the device that produced the illusion latched onto her vehicle and cause it to short out. Nicholas and Victor saw this ability and glared up ahead at Pike. They would remember this ability well. Then Tag went behind Zeno and flipped the toad’s car so that the enemy acted as a barrier. The final illusion was hit and Zeno got the full blast. Pike got some of it who was just as shocked as the toad by these turn of events. The husky and avian behind launched ahead, seeing that Tag had cleared the way. The three went past Pike who thanks to being hit went off to the side just enough to slow down. He turned and saw Nicholas looking at him with a smug look that made the lupine grind his teeth in anger. The lupine though was catching up and Victor saw this. “Not this time!” the avian stated and moved so the wolf couldn’t get around. “I’d rather lose to Nicholas than you again!”

The four were outside now. They could see the finish line with Tag glancing back at Pike and Victor. Even so he was just barely able to pull ahead in first with Nicholas’s car just an inch behind. The avian pulled into third with Pike barely making it in fourth. “He’s done it!” Becks announced. “Tag has won the race!”

In King’s office, the hippopotamus had seen all of this and smiled with triumph that the lupine hadn’t won in first. The three who were announcing the race were exclaiming what a finish while the spectators gathered around the three who had taken first, second, and third. Pike took this in and grounded his teeth in anger again. There would be time for interviewing the next day on the spectacular performances. It had been another long hard day of racing. But it wasn’t over yet as more talking happened. The first moment found Kira talking to Cody. “I can’t believe I got beat badly again,” the male otter grumbled in their room.

“Aww… don’t be like that babe,” she cooed to her guy. The female took his paws into hers with a smile. “You did better this time. And hey, when you race in Aispir City, you’ll be on more familiar turf. It’ll get better.”

He smiled at his girl. “Well you certainly do know how to cheer me up,” he stated.

Meanwhile Jacob was being reassured by Ashley. “Hey there’s always the next race,” the feline told the avian with a smile. “There’s still many left in this season.”

“Yeah but you weren’t taking out like that right away,” he replied bitterly.

“That’s just how it works,” Ashley said with a shrug. “Tell you what, when we get to the next area and if I can, I’ll treat you. You’ll have that to look forward to.”

That did cheer the male up and he grinned. “Yeah thanks.”

In one of the hallways of the Ark Sonny caught up with Meika. “Meika!” he called to her. She turned to face him. “Look I just wanted to… apologize for what happened out there.”

The vixen smiled back. “It’s a race,” she replied. “No worries, Sonny.”

He decided to come clean. “I saw you earlier this week… talking to King.” The female’s eyes went wide a little bit as there was no reason to worry as she wasn’t working for the evil side. The hippopotamus had only come up to her. “Sonny… Look I-“ Meika began.

“I don’t need to know,” he reassured her. “We’ve all got our secrets, right? But the one thing I do know is that you’ve got my back. I trust you. Okay?”

“Okay.” The two bumped fists. Sonny then went off to find Mia. She just smiled when he apologized for what happened and assured the bear that it was alright. She gave him a hug and walked off. But then Nicholas found Meika.

“Quite a crazy day huh?” he stated. “I only wish you hadn’t gotten knocked out like that.”

“It’s nothing!” she replied with a loving grin. “There’s always next time!”

The husky nodded. “I’m glad to see you’re back to normal.” His face got serious, “It certainly was different when I saw you talking with King.”

This time not only did her eyes go wide with surprise but also her ears flattened to the side of her head a little. “Nicholas… that was…” the female said and went silent.

“Just getting some advice?” he suggested and the vixen nodded. “Well as long as it helps you get back to normal. That’s what others are for. I mean sure you can always come to me but keep in mind you have friends to help you out in times of trouble. Anyways let’s win big next time, okay?”

“Sure!” Meika agreed and they also bumped fists. But when the male had his back to her, the female’s face fell.

“Nicholas…” she whispered. Even now the vixen didn’t know how to bring up how she once knew and sadly dated Pike. It was something from her teens when she had been young and stupid. If there was anything she could change in her life was that she’d never even had dated the asshole. The result had been hurt by that evil lupine. Despite still being a virgin and never have slept with anyone, Meika was glad Pike hadn’t gotten that from her. She wanted Nicholas to have that now. She knew though that it was better to tell the husky sooner than later. And so her resolve to do so was strengthened just a little.

Finally Nicholas and Victor had a small talk before night set in. “Those three and Razor, I don’t trust one bit,” the avian stated in the husky’s room which was secure like Meelo’s thanks to some favors Jessica had installed into due to the canine’s request.

“I don’t either, least of all Pike,” the canine agreed. His eyes narrowed with anger and distrust. “After seeing those rookies perform something tells me there’s a lot more to them than people know.”

“It’s more than that, it’s the kind of racing I can’t stand; more than losing to you. Just like how our sport isn’t one anymore. It’s all a puppet show to make the most money out of it.”

“I agree. So help me keep an eye on them. With the troubles we found out with what’s really going on behind the scenes. Not just for those working in the RPG part but with the racing we’ve done for Aispir and other tournaments. Not the foreign ones, but ones on this content. But until we have more info we can’t really make a move.”

“Right. So I’ll just leave you to that. I have to prepare for the next one when I beat you.”

“That’s the idea, make it look like nothing is up with us.” Victor sent a smirk over his shoulder and walked out. Nicholas just gathered his thoughts as the guy knew things were only going to get tougher from here on out.

So there you go. Victor is well aware what is really going on. And I feel so good that Pike's ass got owned in that race, whipping the smug look off the asshole. And speaking of him notice how Meika does regret ever dating the fuck head. Since it was a long time ago it was probably during her teens before she got smart, realizing for what Pike truly is; an evil asshole who will hurt or kill you to get what he wants. Which is why I'll keep showing these facts to drive the message home.
