part of the ace & kristania story.
ace, a black Jackal, responds to a situation while off-duty. as the story goes, she and her girlfriend, kristania, were on a date when they passed by two beat officers responding to a robbery in progress. one officer being shot and left bleeding to death on the floor and the other being winged and diving to hide behind the squad car.
realizing how long backup would take to respond, ace appropriates a vest from the squad car, ace takes out two of the three gunmen and prepares to deal with the third so as to protect the life of the fallen officer.
this is a multi-media piece created from tria marker, prismacolor pencil, micron pen, and acrylic paint on 9"x12" bristol board. remind me not to do some ting with so much black again.

love in her eyes? never thought of that approach. let me see.
ace has four loves in her life.
the first is obviously kristania : her story does not start out that way. at the beginning of her story arc, she is just existing. she is missing the one thing that completes her. and through the first part of her story, she learns that this missing part is kristania.
the third is her bike. sadly this bike is in an accident and ends up being unrepairable. she replaces it with a more new model, that she does treat well. but, she neve loves any bike again as much as that one.
the fourth is her job. her job relates to the second, which i saved for the end. it was her time on the street that pushed her path and helped her decide she wanted to be an officer. but, after she was shot, and saw her partner killed, she wad put on a temporary duty which did remain as a long term temporary assignment. she was too good at it, which had the effect of keeping her off the street while she was dealing with her alcohol problem. she wants to be part of justice, a true believer in 'protect and serve', but she is regulated to being an instructor, teaching others so that they may do it instead.
the second thing, second only to her love of kristania, is the feeling of a weapon discharge in her hand. she loves the way they feel. the way they look, even how they smell. gun oil and freshly burned powder is a slight intoxication. to her, every sidearm is like a child that must be nurtured, respected, and treated well if it is to grow to play a part in the big picture of life.
but she does have a slight prejudice against the m9 baretta. and will pressure any officer she has a chance to in to adopting either a .45cal or a 10mm. fr her self, she does carry a glock 21 as her service weapon, and a glock 36 as her off duty weapon slash backup.
i guess love in her eyes does fit.

actually, the ace and kristania story is very detail in outline form. we know their past history, present, and even a great amount of future.
the only part i really wish did not happen, which was inevitable, was ace confrontation with kristania father and older brother.

Faved it, background story was a nice addition to the piece, like why she has the vest outside her clothing and such.
Detail of the pistol is spot on, do you own one or looked at a picture of one? Very detailed, even ridges on slide.
Fur looks really nice, especially around the left arm how the light is hitting and shining against it.
Plus I just like LEOs to begin with so lol

thank you for checking back. it is all ways nice to hear comments even on older works. and, as you can see, my concept of colour has changed dramatically even in this short time.
as to how. i have a history with small arms. and i am intimately familiar with many. in this case, it was from memory.
the back story on her is kind of many volumes. some day i may actually do the final version.
