They only need to get out of the business of making/spreading cultural Marxist political propaganda and go back to simply entertaining people, but as long as there is profit to made off of such stupidly loyal fan bases (Star Wars has literally transformed into a castrated male feminist equivalent of the Twilight Saga of the late 2010s..it's so fucking tragic! ) that's never going to happen, at least not until Marvel crashes..and it eventually will.
My most optimistic prediction would be this:
Marvel releases begin under-performing (due largely to audience fatigue) enough so to imperil the future of the entire studio within the next 5 years and by then end of the next decade Twentieth Century Fox becomes more creatively independent once again only to eventually decide to finally split from their current ABC/BUENAVISTA merger
(The Mirimax/Disney merger only lasted 14 years, while AOL/ Time-Warner's partnership barely lasted 3) only to either go back to 'New Fox Corporation' or gets bought out by either Comcast or CBS/National Amusements/Viacom.

The ABC/BUENAVISTA company honestly don't have all that much money/power anymore, their financial records tend to be largely a product of their own propaganda, mostly the smoke and mirrors of their efforts to keep the IRS off their back.
This will eventually come back to bite them hard, and it already kind of has, I hear ROS is bombing terribly in China and is acutely under performing to even the lowest expectations of box office analysts all around North America.
The only reason The Lion King 2019 did well is because of a mix of nostalgia and stupidly loyal fan bases (as previously stated). And despite technically making slightly more money than the original with inflation adjustments, in terms of profit margins the original movie made at least twice as much as the remake as a result of being produced on only about 42% of the budget of the 2019 movie with those same inflation adjustments made.

here in germany a lot of fans are already so urinated away they started to ignore it entirely. and the toy shops order less and less merchandise, fearing it will stay on shelf forever. LEGO though, needs to realize this and instead, start to re-concentrate on what made them great: LEGO city, knights, fantasy stuff, and space...
I still prefer to think that all the Star Wars sequels are only POSSIBLE outcomes for the Star Wars universe. Continuityās a fluid thing in movies. Look at the Bond movies- the Daniel Craig ones totally upend the Connery ones, but if youāre a Bond fan, they both happened.
See how easy that is?

it might die soon. when I was young a movie on VHS wouldn't be released until next year, so if you wanted to see a movie you went to the cinemas. (also, a film that sold good would run until everyone had seen it, or a few months even, time enough to save a money and time to hit the cinema. nowadays they change every two weeks no matter what).
now? ticket prices climb, the movie is already on DVD, and if the thing sucks you have wasted 10 euros and more, and a whole evening... people start to think twice about that.
I think the theaters will suffer first.

It sucks that the super cheap theaters went under. They were nice to see a movie a month later for a buck fifty XD But totally agreed, with the ticket prices being super high, all the concessions requiring a second mortgage to get popcorn and a soda, and a pretty big chunk of movies turning out with piss-poor writing, it's no wonder the results are declining :/
Disney tried to undo Star Wars by making the 'extended universe' uncanon, then SLAUGHTERED everything they touched.
NO. They might have acquired it from Lucas, but that doesn't mean they get to destroy what we love. I bring it to us, the nerds and geeks that have embodied the lore to not buy Disney's GARBAGE anymore, and decry that THEY ARE THE ONES WHO AREN'T CANON.
Everything that Disney produces in my eyes is nothing more then a bad Force Vision, a possible future that never came about, and then I go to the Extended Universe books for continuation.
THAT MOUSE SHALL NOT DETERMINE THE FUTURE.
DEATH TO DISNEY and all their #Revisionism

this is what happens when marketing and prestige governs over passion for things. at least let a fan direct/write/whatever. so that it MEANS SOMETHING. it doesnt capture the spirit everyone has grown up loving. They should have used the other stories and maybe even the RPG. those were things people held dear or at least really liked. after the lion king, disney I have very little use for you. Go pixar though...
Considering that Episode 9 essentially bombed in the box office as ROS made only 75% of the average opening of the previous 2 SW films, and seeing as such a horrific under performance for these standard large budget productions are typically considered catastrophic failures by the standards of ABCBUENAVISTA/Disney, I seriously don't see how the top "Big D" executives could in their right minds possibly think that another SW film could be economically viable for another wide theatrical release ever again.
All future releases will probably be limited to their streaming "D+ "service, miking it for all its worth that way, or by other means of direct to video releases.
Bottom Line..
BOYCOTT DISNEY+!
The only reason any people are actually paying for this shitty overrated service is entirely for 'The Mandalorian', and with all the account hacking and piracy going on in relation to that I honestly think that anybody actually paying the $40 a month for an entire streaming online platform over that one good series is a COMPLETE AND TOTAL MORON AND A SUCKER!
Now I'm not personally advocating doing anything illegal, simply saying that in the exceptional circumstance of one certain company that I presently have come to detest so much that I can't even stand mention of it's overly humanizing name (keeping the language unhamizingly corporate, I prefer call "The Big D" what it actually is: ABC-BUENAVISTA!) given it's bloated hyped over esteemed media monopoly ..it's totally justified.
Also ABC/BUENAVISTA, though a media monopoly for sure, is nowhere near as large as people believe it to be, Amazon alone could easily buy the ABC/BUENAVISTA company 10 times over!
Thought I'd mention this^ because as much as I hate the company the one thing I hate even more is people constantly exaggerating their status with endlessly dumb and annoyingly pedantic boomer comments such as "One day Disney will own our entire lives!" Hearing that kind of stupid cliche bullshit pisses me off to no fucking end!
