I feel there are good concepts in the Disney trilogy. It could have been a wonderful addition to the franchise.
But the leadership at Lucasfilm is incompetent. Kathleen Kennedy and Disney have no understanding or respect for the mythology.
They never planned the trilogy out; they just made it up as they went along.
Instead of taking their time and writing the best stories possible, they focused on agendas, identity politics, and playing everything safe.
