Next project in my Intro to 3D Modeling class is a gadget/toy!
Basicly, something mechanical-like to model, hopefully with simple shapes and straight edges. I chose my Gameboy DS lite to make, though I didn't take notice at the time of all it's damn rounded edges. xD they were quite a challenge.
I had fun though. Its missing a lot of little details, but I got all the real major stuff in. Everything else would have come in time, but I ran out of time as I hit the due day. So, this is what I got done.
Neat thing: to make a rounded end on a cylinder, just extrude and bevel the end face a few six or so times and adjust it. That was fun to figure out.

^^ Actually what meant was simply adding an edge highlight. I'm not too good at explaining things but like this:
http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?.....;amp;tp=558366
The first is a simple cylinder which will appear very flat when rendered. But by adding a few bevels like the second one you create a highlight that will catch the light. Very subtle, takes only a few seconds, but add a great deal of realism to your model : )

oh ho~. interesting thing to pick to 3D~.
Though, if you're looking for honest feedback on accuracy (aka 'omgyousuckitlookslikethis' comment), i'll put in my word.
The body is a little smaller then that. maybe 3/4's of what you got.
As for the lower screen, that'd be pretty weird to have it stick out a little like that.
The upper portion, however, looks very accurate. All you'd need is the speakers.
All you're missing now is the ports along the edges and the bottom, and the power and charging light. >;3
