how could i not love everything about this Clydesdale!

Clydesdales are one of my very top favorite horse breeds! ^^ I love those gentle giants! ^^

There was a time when these big draft horses were see as symbols of evil, pulling brewery wagons that delivered the foaming yeasty poison that destroyed good men and women to those vile hell-holes of temptation and degradation, the neighborhood saloon. A solid Temperance advocate would shudder in revulsion at the sight of these drafts on the street no matter what they were pulling. They even wrote a song about them-

Oh, the brewer’s big horses comin’ down th’ road
totin’ around ol’ Lucifer’s load
They step so high and they step so free
but them big horses can’t run over me!

Oh no, boys, oh no
th’ turnpike's free where ever I go
I’m a Temperance Engine, don’t you see?
And th’ brewer’s big horses can’t run over me!

Oh, I’ll harness them horses to the Temperance Cart
I’ll hit ‘em with a gad to give ‘em a start
