Personality: Playful, gungho, enthusiastic, has a penchant for getting into trouble (...such as the time he, on a dare, tried to milk a buffalo and caused a stampede out of panic... whoops), brave, loyal, passionate, enjoys a good spar with strong and/or skilled opponents,; however, is also known to be an insomniac with the occasional sullen moment, rooting in PTSD surrounding the death of his younger brother Jua, and feels spells of loneliness he tries to hide under his bravado

* As a note, in my TLK universe, the Lion Guard is not limited strictly to just five individuals nor is it strictly led by the younger sibling of the reigning King/Queen. Starting from the first year of Simba's reign, the Lion Guard is currently led by Jabari, Makali's father; however, there are whispers as to who will succeed him in the mantle.

Really wanted to try and make him visually distinctive, but still aesthetically fir the character designs of The Lion King as a whole, and the artist was amazingly cooperative with me every step of the way. :) The mane especially; that was always going to be what made him stand out... and sort of parallel real life lions to an extent.

Well, you did a good job in deciding on how to make him unique. I have not seen many lions with a tri-colored mane; they seem to be very very rare nowadays! I especially love the color scheme you chose. That part to me, is what makes him stand out so much. It's not everyday you see a nice vibrant lion character with a black/golden streaked mane. I am glad the artist was so respectful of your design choices! They did a great job!
