I've made plenty of Star wars cahracters intended to flesh out stories and roleplaying experiences, but for a long time now, I've been playing the part of the narrator or game master. This changes here.
I decided I aught to come up with a proper Star Wars character, using a race outlined in previous Star Wars content, and really pursuing what I personally enjoy about Star Wars in the process, rather than just whatever is convinient for my players or the story I'm telling at any given time.
The result here is Gareth, also known as Jedi Knight Gal Reth. I've always resonated well with the concept of the Jedi and I'm always the first to argue in their defence among my social circles, so this only felt right.
As for his species, the Chikarri may have only been briefly touched on in a journal and a roleplaying supplement, but considering the lack of incredible or strange biological or technological quirks, I feel like including them in roleplaying scenarios wouldn't be too big an ask for even the most diehard Star Wars fans.
Plus, they don't seem to need pants with all that fur, which is okay in my book!

hehe nice though you may want to look into the race I usually play in Star Wars RPGs and that is a Selonian, a race well known for not wearing pants and are canon within Star Wars. They come from Selonia which is a planet within the Corellian system and often trade and work with the Corellians in the construction of starships.
The logic and reasoning behind Saber Colour changes Constantly depending on what sources you go off, and what canon or EU material you perscribe to. In this particular case, I simply went with it because I know some Jedi were using them during the Clone Wars era, and the crystal in his saber originates from around then too. Even if you ignore EU content or choose not to accept the canon of the new films, I don't think many people would go against any of the other six major movies.
He's far from neutral though, his saber colour just isn't meant to be symbolic of his alignment.
