This is an old traditional ink sketch that I did awhile back and I thought i'd play with it digitally, specifically CSP's Colorize (Tech Preview) filter which I used twice to drop shading and lighting effects onto the pic. The psychedelic look of it befits the Prairees mid-late 1960s era. It taught me a lot about throwing in complimentary colors to add interest to art.
The Prairees (my Monkees tribute band) lined up like another group of famous monkeys, Speak No Evil (Davy), See No Evil (Peter), and Hear No Evil (Mick). Mike would be "Think No Evil" if there was one.
It's evening time, energy levels are winding down as they settle in for the night, all dressed in their pajamas. Peter is in the famous bunny footed-pajamas from the Monkees TV show. The Prairees bedroom is a hybrid of the Monkees upstairs bedroom on the show and Cunningham Manor found in the episode "Monkee See, Monkee Die." I liked the idea of them being in two twin beds pushed together as though every night is a childrens sleepover as they joke around, laugh and keep each other up all night having fun.
