Irene is not the joking type at all and is very serious.

When it comes to humans, she hates them. When she was only a year old, they killed her parents and took away their siblings. She barely managed to escape and tried to locate her family, only to find pieces of them the humans found useless, carelessly discarded in the woods.

She was heartbroken, but this made her develop her strong hatred of them, and she killed every one she saw, wanting to avenge her deceased relatives. This went on well into her adulthood before she found a human girl, around 20 years old, tied to a tree, being beaten and insulted by two men. She attacked the men immediately, but when she looked at the sobbing girl, something in Irene's heart sparked and told her not to kill her.

She saw a look of terror in the girl's eyes, and Irene saw herself when she looked into them deeper. She could sense the girl had lost her parents and siblings as well. Irene had to suppress her anger and cut the girl free. While she was crying, the girl ran up and hugged Irene's leg. She thanked her for saving her from the men.

Irene didn't like that at first, but after the girl kept hugging her leg, she started to develop feelings for her and decided to take her in and care for her. The girl was very surprised, but Irene felt she had to help the girl not suffer from losing her parents like she had. Soon enough, they became close friends, but occasionally, more humans would come in search of the girl, wanting to harm her.

Irene suggested to the girl of hiding her inside her belly, and the girl didn't see any other option. She allowed Irene to swallow her down and hide her from the men. Irene didn't mind helping her in that way, and the girl slowly came to enjoy being in her friend's belly and asked to do it more often.

Needless to say, Irene was very surprised by this, but she didn't mind. She wanted her friend to be happy, and if that meant tucking her away in her belly, she had no objections.
