Gary is a little, tubby ball of nerves. The gray squirrel hardly stands up for himself and never takes any chances for his benefit if the risk is too great. He works in a call center helping people who lock themselves out of the accounts for several businesses his workplace works for. He doesn't hate it, but he doesn't like it either, so he stays put so he doesn't have to try anything else. There's enough time between calls though, so he's taken to doodling at his desk to pass the time. He'd never show his drawings to his friends since he himself doesn't think they're worth showing.

Ashley has been a friend of Gary's since they were little (well... littler). He's always had a little crush on her, and it's since grown as he admired her bravery in hanging out with such large preds. Every morning before work he'll visit the coffee shop Ash works at, just to see her. He doesn't even like coffee that much. He'd never tell her how he feels. What if she just laughs in his face? And – gulp – feeds him to her pet ferret for even thinking he had a chance? Gary is a bit jealous of how well Ash and Muffin get along. What does Gary have? He's a plain gray, works at a boring job, and believes his rotund appearance unappealing. He doesn't even have any interesting hobbies (if he doesn't count his doodling). All of the preds in the group are friendly toward Gary, outside of teasing him incessently about being the tastiest of them all, but he thinks it's because they feel they have to, being Ash's friends and all. She's the cool one... At the very least, Gary puts a (still somewhat terrified) brave face on in the pred's den to hang out with his little mouse crush.

When it comes to pants or no pants.... Pants. Definitely pants.
