This old stallion is called Atlas. Before tragedy struck, Atlas was a decorated general promoted to the prestigious position of palace guard. During his new vocation, Atlas has married, had a son and rose to the position of Captain of the Guard. Life seemed perfect, until an invasion from a neighbouring kingdom turned his fortunes around for the worst.

Atlas led a successful defence against the enemy, but when he returned home, his wife and son lay dead in the living room, a hooded figure standing over them. Atlas made to attack the killer, but he slipped out of his grasp into the night. Mourning the loss of his family, Atlas swore revenge and ventured out of the city in search of the killer.

Using his military training, Atlas sold his skills as a mercenary for hire, getting payed for dangerous jobs in order to find the murderer. When not working, Atlas can be found drinking and whoring the nights away to distract him from the pain.

The wandering mercenary's journey has taken him to the small island of Equos. At the local brothel, Atlas meets a young stallion named Chiron. Small of stature but big of heart, the old warrior forms a fatherly bond with the boy. But there's more to Chiron than Atlas originally expected. It seems all his years of experience may shape his protege into the warrior he must become to save the world from darkness and decay.

Perhaps there's more to life than vengeance.
