Hate to nitpick, but the WWII Mauser Kar98k held 5 rounds, not 7.

Sorry, I didn't notice you typed in "Italian Mauser."

I really don't know much on those but I've run across a couple. But I do believe they only had a 5 round capacity still.

nope they held 7 rounds just like the M1 Garand

The M1 Garand's en bloc clip held 8 rounds.

What caliber is the Mauser in?

i havent bought bullets for it in a long time but i think its a 7.62mm round..

Even if it's 7.62, it can't be a 7 shot rifle. Not without a protruding magazine.

i know..its weird..but for a rifle as old as it is..its still very accurate and heavy too....idk...it doesnt have a protruding clip but it does hold 7 bullets..how idk..but it does...and i dont buy ammo for it anymore because the bullets are soooo fuckin expensive i cant really afford em..

Now, there was a 1938 Carcano, that might be what you're thinking of, but that was a 6.5mm, and certainly not the rifle you have, there. They fed from a 6-round clip, though. With the variety of 7.62mm cartridges, it could be a variety of things, though many bring-back Mausers were rebarreled for the .30-06, given it's similarities to the 8mm Mauser, sometimes called the 7.92mm, which may have been mistaken for 7.62?
