2019 was my first year of taking art seriously, and what a year it was!
It started out with me wanting to finally get into digital painting, so without any visible lineart or similar. The first few tries took me a really long time, and I thought about giving up a few times, but I'm so glad I stuck with it in the end. With every artwork I did things became easier and faster, and soon I was able to focus on different things like complex lighting situations or interesting poses.
Something I also tried to come up with was a style which didn't take me as long, but still looked good. The result of that was the picture I did in May, which, in the end, still took just as long as the other ones :^) So yeah, that's still on my to do list on things to learn.
Other than that I feel like I've also made quite the progress in terms of drawing backgrounds, which I pretty much learned from scratch this year. So many of my previous drawings have either no or a just a very crude and simple background, whereas now I feel like backgrounds add so much to artworks, sometimes being even more important than the subject itself, like in the drawing I did in July.
Besides art I'm just really happy with the friends I've made over the year, as well as deciding to finally change my name and start branching out to FurAffinity and Twitter. It's a bit tiring sometimes, but I'm still glad I made the switch to actively engaging with people on those platforms, especially Twitter.
I hope I'll be able to continue having fun with art in 2020, as well as continuing to learn more about it. Maybe I'll even manage to finally start doing traditional stuff, even if it's just simple doodling :^)
So yeah, I'm interested to hear what you guys think, as well as how your 2019 went :3
And lastly, I wish everyone a happy new year!
