Once upon a time, Jesse Morgan and Sal Constantine were partners. As a pair of persistent private investigators, the two of them helped the police and various attorneys stop criminal activity throughout the city. Jesse's enthusiasm and faith in the essential good of people tempered Sal's innate cynicism, making them an unstoppable team.
This couldn't last long, however. About ten years ago, the two had a falling out. Sal never exactly left the PI business - but he did start working for shady characters, especially up-and-coming gangster, Marcus Colbourn. Jesse, furious over Sal's lack of morals, joined the police force as an official detective, and now seeks to bring down Colbourn's entire operation. Now Jesse and Sal stand on opposite sides of a conflict which threatens to rip the city apart, and their friendship could never survive such a trial.
