The first reference for 2020! Let's do this!

Personality: Naive, Impish, Snarky

A musician who plays from experience, Crumpet has had a rough life. Her mother died from a terminal illness at the worst possible time, when expecting another daughter. Not only has Crumpet lost her mentor in music, but she was forced to live in an orphanage when her father is unable to provide for her. The abuse she felt from her adopters has stripped her of her sympathy for others, and she became a succubus, selling her soul when she was a teenager. She felt that the only way to win adoration is by stealing it away from others. It would take true love and caring from another to convince her otherwise. She gives up being a succubus once she finds someone who genuinely cares for her... only to find that getting out of the British Sirens is not easy. Her fight to retrieve her soul and become mortal was one that almost cost her her life. Although the person who inspired her to ditch her succubus ways is no longer there for her, she found another who cares for her. He was Keith Byrne, and he and Crumpet married with her becoming Karol's stepmother. For once, Crumpet has finally found a family, but would memories of her own mother she never had come to haunt her?

Crumpet is one of my most fascinating characters in my opinion. Sometimes I feel like I write her character wrong, but other times I find myself taking interest in her. I think what makes her stand out is not her backstory, but herself as a character. She has that stern and motherly personality that I adore, and I would love to see it flourish with her marriage with Keith and with her adaption of Karol. As we continue 2020, I hope to see her develop more. She truly is a journey to me ever since I devised her after spending a Summer in a Victorian hotel with crumpets and tea.
