And with this page, we reach the end of Chapter I.
I just got back home after a day of traveling and whatnot, and I'm honestly to tired to come up with any coherent words besides, once again, thanking you all for jouning us in this journey.
I'm going to copy-paste below what Jack said on their submission, as I believe it to be important enough to share.
"Chapter I is completed!! (Well, it was finished in early September for me but I digress-)
This is a personal milestone for us and we're very proud! Homeworld's been a project we've thought about for six plus years and it feels amazing to finally see it come to life.
We've learned a lot already and hopefully we'll keep getting better. I'm generally pleased with the chapter as a whole, even if I'm iffy about a lot of things, particularly on the writing end of it. I don't know if I would have done things a lot differently if I were to do the chapter again now, because then I believe the ending we see here in Chapter I could easily have become the ending of Chapter IV or V. I wanted to get us in the action right off the bat, plot or die, you know, but looking back on it, it didn't have to be the only option. There's a certain point of the story we wanted to get to (Victor joining Warden's insurgency) as fast as possible, because that was the beginning to the meat of the story, the story we always wanted to tell, but as a result I wouldn't be surprised if anyone told me the chapter was rushed or confusing.
There's an equally rich story that comes before Chapter I as there is after, and we chose to tell that story by alluding/looking back to it over the course of the main plot and admittedly that may not have been the best option. I think it would have done a service to the story to take a few chapters to actually show the daily lives of these characters which has now been uprooted, and take the time to slowly introduce you, the readers, to the universe, the characters, and the conflict rather than - I guess - slap you in the face with it with characters who already have a pretty big idea of what's going on. I've also been pretty occupied with showing character defining moments and I feel like I've neglected to show who the characters are in a normal moment. There's been a lot of characters responding to the plot and not enough of characters responding to each other which ironically is my favorite thing: character interactions and character relationships. And I think that's something most of you like more as well, judging by bigger reception to pages such as page 20 and page 41. Gunfights and plot mysteries are cool and all but I'd be here for the wholesome and heartwrenching moments too, so that's definitely something I need to pay attention to when I write further. Bah, I could go on for ages on the one million ways this could all have been much better, because it's a lot easier to think back on it rather than just write a better story to begin with, lmao. But in the end, I hope the first chapter was done decently regardless. I'm excited for Chapter II, which is coming along nicely already."

Is there a song that's called "Dead Puppies Are No Fun"?
I'd say that's appropriate for this scene.
EDIT: Found it! https://youtu.be/Ak0_fa1DDpc

Congrats for finishing this!
I personally think starting the comic that way was a good decision. It doesn't hurt to get as fast as possible to the actual plot, and the relationships between the characters have been settled rapidly but properly, I think. It doesn't seem rushed to me at least.
Keep up the great work :)
