For this one I wanted to practice more background elements and character interactions. I was going to Conjuration around the time that I drew this, so I had Hufflepuffs and badgers on the brain. I really wanted to push the sense of being warm and comfortable inside during a cold and inhospitable winter's day.

At shows I got questioned if this was Wind and the Willows quite a bit (Narnia to a lesser extent, though that would make a little more sense what with the two badgers), and that book was a weird gap in my reading history so I had to pick it up after this. An excellent read, and it definitely makes me want to draw more.

P.S. I was actually thinking about that ancient-in-internet-terms meme video "Badger Badger" so you'll see on the mantle a portrait of a snake and a pot of mushrooms in homage.
