This is a modified tool I have made from an old Enderes chisel. I really just heated the thing up and forged it into a square taper and rehardened&tempered it. Not much else to it besides that.
I shined the tapered portion up at the grinder, so I can see if I ruined the temper or not when I use the thing. It also helps to have those parts nice and smooth so they pop back out easier and not snag on any ragged edges of the work piece from the punching process.
