"The Ringing of Bells" is the name of a phenomenon associated with one rare magical creature. In mythology, this creature is described as a fulfillment of desires, as well as a liar and a liar. According to legend, every year this creature chooses a victim among sentient beings. It always observes from afar, without showing up. Within a year, the victim begins to hear the ringing of bells nearby. The victim hears this ringing sometimes in a dream, sometimes very close, as if behind his back. At this time, the mythical creature is overgrown with horns with a random number of bells on them. After exactly one year, it appears in front of its victim and offers a deal. The deal will allow to choose any bell and make a wish that it will fulfill. A necklace with a bell is put on the creature’s neck (before its transformation), which “binds” it with its obligations and forces it to fulfill its part of the deal. One and only one bell of all obliges him to do this. If you choose any other bell, you will be in his power and, most likely, you will be eaten.

But if you can guess, then this creature will by all means try to distract you and change your choice. If you try to refuse, then it will use false and flattering words to try to persuade, beg and order to make a choice.

There is another legend that says that once it was an omnipotent deity. This deity was entertained by cruel deals with mortals, it deceived or performed its contract in a completely different way. And there was a hero who was able to outwit the deity and, with his desire, he ordered the deity to wear a bell, which makes him fulfill the desire without deception, honestly and fairly.

But this did not save him from deception by this monster. Now, only thanks to him, this monster is limited to at least one victim per year. It is desperately trying to find someone whose desire can be wrapped so that it gives him freedom.
