This is a (fairly successful so far) test image. I figured out a way to get Photoshop to dither specific colors. I intend to use this method to make a chainmail inlay pattern. I haven't decided what image I'll make the inlay of, so in lieu of a specific image, have a standard one.
The color of any pixel matches a color I have in anodized aluminum. So I could use this as a pattern directly, except that at 512 pixels square, using the size ring I currently use it would be 9 feet on a side.
Points to people who recognize the image.
I'm looking for suggestions for what image I should actually make something out of. It should be an awesome image that doesn't require high resolution and preferably has reasonably vibrant colors.
