Abyssus Abbey Chapter 1: Arrival
Welcome to Abyssus Abbey -- a place where monks study and summon demons in an attempt to prevent the Apocalypse.
The demons are in the walls, listening to your words, your thoughts, your desires, and if you fall prey to any of the Twelve Temptations, you may find yourself changed in ways you may not have expected.
The Abbey has always drawn and doomed those who seek power and knowledge, and if you're lucky, you might find something else there: a change in your outlook, a surprising ability, a friend where no friend was expected, and even romance.
But all pleasures come with a price, and sooner or later the devil will have his due.
Come in. Join the damned.

I just finished binge reading up to the latest chapter these past three days and I just had to sing some praises for this story! Honestly it's a crime that engagement on this series seems so low despite the consistency and quality over the years.
The building and expanding intrigue, the ever present tension and anticipation, plus of course the tactfully and tastefully executed "fun" parts make this an absolute riveting and engaging read. The length and encapsulation of each the chapters is perfect, never feeling drawn out to the point of excess or terse to the point of exclusion. Writing is exquisite as descriptions never feel tedious or sparse and words never feel overused. But what really sells this story for me is the masterful world building - dog dang if it ain't just so excellent. The setting and magic system and rules that unfolds (and even how it unfolds) has me in a grip, with the sexual content moreso an extension and welcome bonus of the main story, rather than its focus. The theological and philosophical explorations was a genuinely fascinating and pleasant surprise that added great depth to the writing that really pushed it even further for me; further and more real. Its integration into the story was so fluent as well.
In all honesty I was almost disappointed in a way by the fact that the adventure must be constrained to only one story: the temptation is strong to imagine what other plots could have unfolded in this setting, and indeed the itch is there to create my own.
And naturally the transformation is satisfying and thrilling, with such clever execution as the tale goes on, always leaving the reader guessing and postulating.
All in all, well done! I can't wait to see where this story goes and both lament and eagerly await its conclusion!
