Although it isn't an official rank, the highest position a member of the Arken Guard can achieve is that of Honor Guard. At any given time, there are only 10 per faction. Their armor and clothing is more symbolic for status, but is still highly functional. the overall style remaining largely unchanged since the first of the Honor Guard near the beginnings of Asteran recorded history. In fact, the only real difference is the materials that it is made of. The 'hard' areas are made of refined Vektralite which can deflect most projectiles, and are efficient at dissipating most forms of energy that impact it. The cloth areas are also made of refined Vektralite, but are grown in the same fashion as carbon nano tubes, making very durable and extremely efficient at dissipating energy, however, it does not stop ballistics.

The Honor Guard typically protect very high value assets (people or objects). There are always two Honor Guards present at High Council Assemblies. Their weapon has two functions. It is used both as a dual edged Vector blade and a Vector 'gun'.
