The surge, Recruitment Day

It was early in the morning on Fian VII, in the chaotic outer time of the Felsa system. Normally, this would be a cause to be happy, but not today, today was Recruitment day. Sakura was awoken early by her mother, she was gotten ready and dressed, her face slowly staining with tears. Her mother gently held her face, and turned it to face her, "listen, Little Sakura, I know you dont want to go but...you'll be safer there...and we dont have much of a choice...but stay my little girl okay...? No matter what, stay my little girl please..." Lastly she had to bandage Sakura's right arm, to hide it, to hide its secrets, that she couldnt even tell Sakura for her own good.
"Now...your name is Rocky, and your arm was injured...okay sweety...?" Sakura nodded weakly, but gave in and hugged her mother with all of her might. Her face stained more and more with tears, she was just a little girl, why couldnt she stay with her mother....? The mother slowly hugged back as she could no longer restrain the tears. "Listen sweety....you'll grow strong....and we can see each other again okay...? Stay mommy's girl...please....stay Acria's little angel...." the memory would fade as the knocking could be heard against their door. Sakura tried to keep her promise, but the most she could keep was that small memory of her, the training, the stuff she had to do, took so much out of her...
Another memory would come to her, she was taken with the rest of the children to a medical facility ran by the Vix Imperia. There Sakura was implanted with augmentations to help improve her growth, as well as a fail safe. This meant of course that the doctor had seen what was on her right arm, but he was already taking her life away, he didnt want to take more, so it became his little secret as well.. When Sakura was finished, her trainer approached her with a smirk, informing her of her implants, but also, that if she were to ever act up, that theyd be her punishment too..
She only found out what that had meant a few days after training, during breakfast she had gotten into a brawl with one of her future team mates, when suddenly horrible amounts of pain surged through the both. Sakura slumped to the floor as she twitched in agony, their trainer walking up to them. "You are a team, you behave and act like one, the more you disobey rules, the more you act up, the worse it will get! Now you two, no breakfast, get to the field!" Sakura remembered having to go through that experience at least five more times that years, and yet though it was agony then, it was not the worst of it..
Each kid in training was pushed to their utter most limit, the absolute wall of what they could do, and then forced beyond it. The Vix Imperia only wanted the best, those who failed expectations, were forced to work in the mines. Everyone knew then that it was the worst kind of death sentence someone could have...so, even through the horrible torment of training theyd have to suffer for years, getting blasted, taxed beaten, forced to run far more than they could, do far more than they could do, through agony both mental and physical, even brainwashing, they endured...even though by that point it was obvious the mines were a better fate...
As the memory faded, it left a sour taste in her mouth, her training finished years ago, she was part of an attack team, the same one she started with, she was sitting side by side with her friends, but they weren't even friends... In fact it was just scared so much into their minds, that when the other menories left, the only thing they knew, was that they served the Vix Imperia, and that thet were a team... Sakura was lucky that she even remembered what little she did about her mother.. the others were far less fortunate as she was..
The second training finished, they'd be sent out constantly to fight off the threats of the other worlds, though this also meant some cities had to be burned, some innocents had to be killed. Here and there, however, Sakura would hear things about the inner system, the peaceful Felsa Controlled systems, no war, no chaos... although her team was loyal to the Vix Imperia, Sakura yearned to one day leave for the inner system, to live a peaceful life... "five minutes til landing" the speaker in their landing craft announced, today wasn't the day to lament on the past, or dream of the future, today was Recruitment day, and as usual riots went off across the planet.
They had already been sent out to other sections, stopping the riots, killing civilians, that included the very children they were sent to take in the process...by now they had already stopped five riots, and killed 50 civilians...among them, so mant children...at first, the very first year they were sent to quell these riots, it was horrible, it was torment to her soul what she had to do, but by now, it was just added to the horrible guilt in the back of her heart... finally, their craft landed down.
As the shuttle doors opened, the group would run out into a storm of energy blasts from both sides. Ion blasts firing from within the city block, EMP mines going off as unfortunate people had stepped down onto it, and blasts of ruby and emerald filling the air with the smell of noxious fumes. As her team had found cover behind a barricade, the team leader would speak out only to duck immediately as an emerald beam would fly by where his head was just moments ago. Hed look to his team as his plan formed, "Leaf" he said looking towards the soldier on his left, "get to the hill behind us, provide covering fire and try to get an eye on where their artillery is, and give an idea of how the hell they got it!" As he finished, the female soldier would nod, before sprinting back into hell to get to that cliff.
If not for their full body armor coming with shielding, doing such a thing would be frankly impossible. The leader then looked at Sakura and the man beside her, a soldier she knew as Storm, "Rocky, storm, theres an opening in the building to our forward left, get inside the block from there and try weakening them from the inside! Me and Jax will try working our way to the damaged hovercraft directly ahead to try getting that turret working!" Sakura and Storm nodded before turning and sprinting into the hell themselves. Blasts of emerald and ruby would fly by them and pelt the burning ground beneath their feet as the two would bolt for the small opening.
As they got close, both would dive for the hole, only Storm would make it all the way in, but thankfully he dragged Sakura the rest of the way through before she could get shot up. After taking about thirty seconds to catch their breath, they immediately had gotten to work doing the jobs they were sent in to do. As theyd go through the building, theyd need some resistance along the way, but it was obvious none of these rebels were soldiers or properly trained, just men and women who lost their children, or were trying to prevent it, at this point, shooting them down and killing them was more merficul than taking them alive.
As they turned a corner to enter a side room, an EMP blast went off trying their modular armor. An emerald blast would then rush by Sakura, piercing Storm right through the chest and dropping him dead. Sakura only had seconds to tackle the rebel man and dive her now damaged ion knife into the mans throat. Shed have to abandon her armor however, remove all except the upper shoulder guard so she could keep her right arm armored, even to this day she still hides her right arm as her mother told her, and still doesn't know why she had to.. she would cross storms arms over his chest before grabbing the rebels weapon to replace her now ruined one, before continuing on with her mission.
Sakura would have to carefully eliminate ten other rebels before she finally made it to the central court yard impy to see how chaotic it had gotten. Buildings destroyed and collapsing by warhead, landing craft's crashing around them, countless dead from both sides and yet blasts of ruby and emerald would still fly through out. Try as she may, Sakura without her armor, was having extreme difficulty, she couldnt keep up a full fight in enemy territory by herself and without her armor, shed no doubt be shot down just like Storm.. Yet no matter how much she fought, somehow she never felt a single blast hit her, and her armored arm felt lighter as if the armor was powered again.
Shed look to her right in astonishment to see colorful voltage soaring through the armor plating as a magnificent aura of energy radiated from her arm. Blasts would hit some mystical barrier and ricochet off somehwere else, and despite the fire she was standing in, it didnr quirenreach her ekough to damage her. Although the rebels had stopped in shock and surprise, she found a sudden shock when she saw a blue blast coming from her own side of the field. It pierced through her barrier and triggered her implants, causing such an immense pain that she had blacked out from it..
The next moments would go by in a haze, Shed awake slightly to feel herself cuffed, and barely see the old medical facility she first came to before blacking out again. Shed dream of the doctor who had kept her secret for her, now being shot, though would wake later to find out a staff member was indeed executed during the time she was being carried through the facility... she'd awake for good at last to find herself in a prisoners uniform, cuffed and collared in an interrogation room..
Her trainer and commanding officer would then walk in and sit down in front of her. "Rocky, no last name, orphan, came in with an injured arm, now a lieutenant first class, and finally, we found a last name. Rocky Silversun.." he said glancing at her now exposed arm, a sun like marking followed with some ray markings down her arm, glowing faintly.
"I...fail to see the problem sir..." was all she could stutter out, she didnt even know what the markings meant so hownthenheck could she defend herself...? "I...I did as commanded and followed my orders...I domt know what I did wrong..?"
"You hid a dangerous secret the entire time we had you." The officer growled before standing, "we executed the doctor who gave you that body glove to hide your arm, see Rocky, the Silversuns were a family of Mana weavers...some people call what Mana Weavers can do...magic...sorcery....but in truth, they can channel power from the space in between worlds, in between universes..." he spoke as he stood and slowly began to circle the table. "See the Vix Imperia has many loyal Mana Weavers, many well known families... The Silversuns used to be one of them, but then they vanished...destroying an entire military complex as they did...."
"See they found what we do to be....tyrannical....chaotic and horrible, monsters even....and each one could be identified...." hed grab her arm and yank it up a bit, "by the sun on their arms..so tell me...miss Silversun....do you think were a bit...extreme...? A bit....chaotic...?"
Sakura gulped nervously, but wasn't even given a chance to answer. "That's a yes disguised as a no, I know you Rocky, every time you lie, you make a nervous little....gulp....but don't worry....theres a solution...." Sakura knew what he meant, the idea terrified her too much, she went wide eyed in fear and gulped a bit.
"S-sir I follow orders fine, I dont nee-" she was interrupted mid sentence by the man furiously.
"Sure you do now, but then you get strong, then you break free, start a rebellion huh? No, you'll be scheduled for mind replacement, could be years from now....months...days....just know you'll be spending them behind bars..." he said forcing her to look at him before tossing her into the guards. "Lock her up, make sure her time here is misery, maybe by the time we have the Psions here, shell be so broken, that all well need to do is slip a new mind right in.." he let out a slight chuckle.
As Sakura was gagged and dragged away, shed struggle as hard as she could, her own team mates dragging her off to where shed spend life until her inevitable doom. Her next moments here would be misery, humiliation...torment...pain, for days...weeks....months maybe even years...filled with false promises, false escapes...she could only hope for a miracle at this point... whether she would get one, has yet to be told, yet to be written down in time, but otherwise, the future looked rather...hopeless in her eyes...
