This is a creature i made up for a roleplay. I dun really know what to call them yet, but its a winged mammal sorta like a meerkat/feline/musteline something or other..

Basically, they are a race of celestial warriors, using the energy of Light and Darkness to cast various spells. They use runic symbols in their magic working, forming glowing symbols that indicate what spell or ability they want to use.

They also possess an innate ability that they refer to as 'True Voice'. This is a mighty ability, using their dual vocal chords in such a manner as to cause things to shatter and living things to become injured. Each creature is able to use this ability, but there are varying degrees of power among them. Some can barely make a blade of grass move, while the greatest of them can devastate entire battalions of troops with a single sung note. They can also use this power to enhance themselves and their allies, bestowing vigor, courage and fury to those who hear them. All of them are trained to use 'True Voice' even in the thick of battle, allowing them to defend themselves even in the midst of song.

They have lighter bones, and huge wings, averaging 30ft+ wingspans, but they condense very well, folding to a much more manageable size when not in use.

another racial trait is the glowing patterns that flow over their bodies. The patterns and colors vary for each one, but they are always distinctive and contantly glowing unless specifically turned off, then all that you can see are black markings where the patterns were.

I'm still working out all the details, but they are coming together nicely.
