And here we finally have a shot of the tail. Which was a royal pain to build. Or at least to figure out how to build. But once I had the foam I need to make the internal verebrae, it went together pretty smoothly. And in the end I wound up with a surprisingly light weight tail, that curves away from the body. And even swishes from side to side a little when I walk.

*Chuckles* I can't believe you guys can even see that. But yes, that's a four barreled pepperbox alright. One of the last ones that my room mate made before he gave up the craft. But I'll tell you, it's really nicely done. And don't worry Syah. It's not loaded. :) And it's not like we leave the powder and pellets around where anyone can find them.
He MADE it!? It's a WORKING model!? Good heavens!
Did he sell them? How much time did it take him? Oh /Lord/, I didn't think there was anyone who made these kinds of things anymore! Absolutely amazing! I'm /definitely/ interested, hun; it's terrible to hear that he's given up the craft. He wouldn't happen to have any spares or extras he may be willing to part with?

Oh yes, they certainly do work. I can attest to that. :) He brought them when we went out to the shooting range a few years back. And I was shocked to discover how accurate they are.
But yeah, he's a wood and metal smith. So for him it was only a matter of getting the base materials he needed. And he says that he used to sell them to the folks who would re-enact cival war and pirate battles. Though as far as the price goes and if he has any others tucked away, I'm honestly not sure. I'd have to ask him. But I'll gladly do that for you tommorrow. :)

I'd greatly appreciate it! Seriously, send me a note sometime tomorrow. I'm strapped for cash, but to know someone who's capable...
Amazing. The pepperbox has always been a favorite style of mine, even though I know it's one of the less efficient. It's just so beautiful!

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you Murdock. Was waiting for Foxpaws to be able to check through his things in storage. But as he had expected, he really doesn't have anything else laying around that's worth selling. And the one's that he lets me use as a center piece for the living room are not for sale I'm afraid. :(
I'd never ask for the ones you own. I'd only offer to buy spares--things like these are /valuable/, treasures in their own right. I'd be offended if someone offered to buy them from me, after all!
But thank you very much for checking, at least. Let him know that if he ever plans on picking up the trade again, he has at least one potential buyer who's very much interested. :) I really appreciate you checking for me!

*Chuckles* Believe it or not. I used one of those foam tubes they use for toys in pools. (Pool Noodles) But yeah, just took one of those, cut it into two inch sections, carved the edges to angle them into the various arches and then bound them together using a length of very light weight rope. :)
