Oh yes, he and TirTal were married for sometime. Only when TirTal took over in his father's position of power was when things started to turn ugly between them two. It wasn't so bad at first but it just gradually went down hill the longer they stayed together (at least until SarKu convinced YalYor to run away)

Glad he could run away on time unlike VirDhas. But why did power suddenly make TirTal even worse ?
And why did he accept to marry since visibly shits were already going down in that pic ?

Once TirTal had his moment, he let the idea of control get the better of him. In a way, being able to sentence and control people with his own rules corrupted him to the point of taking it too far. It all went to his head. And YalYor, at the time, hadn't a clue as to what truly was going on time before. TirTal seemed very normal to him and was even very loving at the time. Only when TirTal let all his need for control get to his head did things really start going down hill.

But before they had even met, YalYor was very nervous and not looking forward to being married off despite knowing it was typical of many aristocrats/elite urSkek to be placed in arranged marriages. And to be asked by ZiSa nonetheless was nerve-racking enough for him given ZiSa was one of the highest ranking urSkeks in the political court. He may look as down ridden as he is, but deep down, he's afraid he'd let his family down if he said no.
