The whole piece is just mezmerizing. the smile seems enigmatic, like a fuzzy Mona Lisa smile or something to that extent. The eye adds to this effect greatl. plus, the overall color contrast adds something interesting in itself.
Not sure if that's a baggy shirt or a scarf, but something about it seems to make the whole thing more... mysterious, I think is the word that fits.
