I always saw Orcs, goblins, ogres, trolls and so on as an evolution. Like like Gorillas, orangutans and chimps. So this is kinda in the same theme. The evolutionary stages of the Orc family.

I like how you decided to give only the orc clothes, as I view it as that even though orcs are a strong race it has past the line between being able to rely on its own physical advantages to survive in the wild so it needs to create armor and items to gain the missing advantage.
