Need a shot of the yard... and of course it needs a snowdog in it. Sage has made herself a spot where she is comfortable and out of the wind. When the lay like this they tuck their paws next to their body to keep them warm.
For those that think she should be inside... she likes being outside in weather like this... she asks to be outside, if she wants in she will let me know, she is rather vocal about wanting in.

Most the Malamutes I've met here have been very "Smart" as compared to other large dog breeds. I kinda like the way they try to "Talk" with humans, and I often get the impression that they are not merely trying to mimic human speech. So I believe you when Sage tells you that she wants in or out, she can tell you.
Oh yes they have their actions or vocalizations that they want something and something specific. Sky had a distinct yes and no he would vocalize and you could quite literally ask him a question and a lot of times he'd give you a yes or no answer if he wanted something.
Sage doesn't vocalize as much as Sky used to but she gets her point across most of the time

I can't even imagine a world with snow in it. Its a regular occurrence for you but to me its almost mythical in my understanding. It boggles my mind. I've seen small amounts once when I was visiting New Zealand so I know it to be real but I can't comprehend the amount that is shown in your pictures. For many Australians snow is a myth. *hugs*
