I'm gonna be the rude one here and say honestly. Thats a cowardly fucking thing to do. Its your prerogative but choosing to give up on everything youve cultivated. If it makes you feel good, and brings you money it's a business and how is that an "addiction".
Thats a terrible message to send to people.
Thats a terrible message to send to people.
I see what you mean for sure, I know he can do whatever the hell he wants and I support that, but he is going to miss the money. Even professional SFW illustrators don't make that much. Whether it be game design or private. Sad to say this, and we all know its true anyway, NSFW is the money maker. That and fursuit creators.
Gonna miss your art that is for sure, farewell. Good luck, he is going to need it.

I respect his decision, and wish him well on his endeavors, but the one thing I disagree with Seyrmo on is his deleting everything, wiping out what he already has in order to keep from tempting him. There's ways he can keep the temptation away without depriving his fans of his early work; asking the admins to lock his accounts so he can't get back on is one.
Agreed, I don't like that of deleting everything as to say it was tempting him or that it might imply that Seyrmo is ashamed of all he's done, and/or even for those wanting to still enjoy his stuff not finding it anymore here.
And I know I can't speak for all perspectives, but I extremely dislike to comparison to an addiction that's written here. I don't feel that's totally true and don't like it AT ALL.

I suppose.
Even so, I hope he may find the route cause of his unfulfillment and lack of joy in it so that he CAN find joy in it again and find it fulfilling. If there is one thing I thought an artist should enjoy despite being assuredly critical of it, it's his or her own art.

Isn't an addiction something like a chronic habit? Wouldn't that mean that, when he removes his past art from his life, that he would get anxiety and tremors?
If that's the case, then I honestly don't see why someone would call drawing nsfw art an addiction. I remember at least one artist back in the day switching from nsfw to sfw art without really removing their older content.
If Seyrmo wants to stop drawing nsfw art, he can, it's his choice and if it makes him feel better about himself, then I support it. I understand it more like Seyrmo was forcing himself to draw nsfw art, presumably because of monetary gain, which is fair. I wish you, Seyrmo, lots of luck for your future.

I kinda agree with this point; nuking accounts means lost art and that's never a good thing if it is not visible anywhere else. Patreon stuff especally because it will go missing without being preserved, due to the restricted exposure. Taking a step back to reassess yourself is fine... but taking everything away that people want to sed, the stuff you made already, just to look forward, isn't a good move.
It's an term for artists who move from NSFW to standard art. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki......chedUnderpants
Moving on to other talents != nuking your entire profile and fanbase bc "sex bad" or whatever motivation is being pushed.
Its pretty much completely indefensible. As well Zeb responded with the term below so I guess I dont need to explain it but. Its absolutely ridiculous cowardly behaviour that Im sick of seeing.

Oh and one last thing before I go, in their message they explicitly state that they wanted to do manga/etc but didnt have the courage to stand behind it. Honestly considering they already have a fanbase beginning a doujin, adult or not is a source of money and they are choosing to give up all of that including their talent and skill because they are a fucking coward.
Shame is a powerful thing. Sometimes it makes people realise they're doing something incomprehensibly stupid to themselves. Actively cutting off your own income for a gamble? Literally gambling? When you have a sure thing working for you. Is absolutely stupid and reprehensible.
And on that note, I cant begin to talk abt how disgusting your attitude is and how completely youve missed the point here.
Genuinely. If you actually cared about the wellbeing of other artists here, you'd be just as mad as I am and wouldnt support this trend or decision.

Hey here's an idea, how about just respecting their decision instead of being a little shit about it? Be glad they actually said anything about it and didn't just take off and completely shut their account off right away. It's their life, they're allowed to make decisions on it.
Nope, defending it right here. It's not your life, so you don't get a choice in what they do. If they want to leave they have every right to. You have an issue, then the door's right there. Don't let it hit you on the way out. And wow someone has a huge stick up their ass, blocking me after one comment. XD
Cowardly is not the right word here. you have the right to delete ur shit lol
it's not YOURS or anyone else's, it's HIS art.
People switch careers all the time. He doesn't like doing this, He doesn't want to be seen as just a furry artist, he wants to tell people his career and be proud of it, This ISN'T something he's proud of. Plain and fucking simple and if you get offended by that, so fucking sorry, but NORMAL people think this shit is fucking BIZARRE. lol
PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO STOP DOING THINGS, THEY DON'T NEED A REASON
God, How can you be SO entitled to something that has LITERALLY nothing to do with you?

lmao ok buddy whatever you say, go jerk off somewhere else
Its not about entitlement, its the message that this asshole is sending to people by saying that this art is "an addiction" do you know how disgusting that is? About a week before posting this garbage they also put their entire gallery up for ransom for 100 usd so that means they are literally saying "haha pay me or its gone forever"
Yeah no. Fuck off. This isn't about entitlement, this is someone being a scumbag coward who should be called out for it.

This might sound a bit ridiculous, but here's my two cents on it:
You're a really good artist, and people have been making you draw stupid bullshit.
Like seriously, obscure fetishes, characters, etc and so forth, ad nauseum. That's what I've seen since I started following your art. I feel like you should draw what YOU'RE really passionate about! Whether that's SFW, NSFW, some specific kinda thing, etc. In any case, you're a really talented guy and I'm wishing you all the best!

I think those things aren't bullcrap or ad nauseum, but agree that Seyrmo is great artist.
And that yes, he should stick with art he's passionate about, not just abandon it whether SFW/NSFW, and work with both it and what new design he wishes to learn.
I do hope this won't be the last we see of him, but I do wish him luck.

Seyrmo?
I just want to say that for the good years that I've known you, you never reallly gave the impression, to me at least, that you less excited about drawing NSFW/SFW piece anthro, or that you perceive it as an addiction, which I cannot say that I support that line of thinking AT ALL and don't like the comparison.
You are a great artist. A GREAT ARTIST. When one of your streams would come on, I'd love to just join in. I would have liked to commission and support you and your talent, and yes you have skill AND talent, though I never have the money that need to commission many great artists, and looks like I may never commission you now, despite having a lot of stuff I wanted to commission from you. You did listen to two requests/suggestions I had and did, and I'll always be grateful for that, but I still wanted to officially commission and support you and give yourself love for what you were doing.
As much as I respect your decision, I want and wish that you weren't retiring out of these terrible feeling of perception of addiction and lack of enthusiasm and LOVE of your own art and talent. You don't HAVE to abandon it, you can still keep it AND learn photography, two great skills and talents blessing your hands. It pains me that you've fallen a bit out of love with what you do, and I hope that love sparks and enflames passionately again and comes back.
I hope you'll reconsider deleting all relating to your art and talent despite what you think as "addiction" and keep on for all to enjoy viewing.
Though I respect your decision and wish you the best of luck, in art and photography, hoping that while you succeed in whatever you venture into, that you will come back.
We all love you, Seyrmo.

Don't go if you like what you do and if you even earn enough money then everything is perfect.
Others would sell body parts to get what you have. You are as good as many other great artists and you are better than 90% (or more) of all people on this planet who try to do art.
I wish everybody to be happy but I think this decision might not be the best if you don't have a special and ultimate reason to stop. - Like if someone forces you to quit becuase he/she points a loaded gun at your head.
You don't have to quit completely just to focus on other projects, too. It's not always easy but you are never too old for anything. Don't think that there is an age limit for anything.
If you quit and delete everything you have created then all the time, the money, the effort and the work you've spent will be wasted. You can still do other art and hobbies without killing an important part of yourself or of your work.
I can imagine how you feel and why you wrote this. But from this action I know that you don't want to quit by yourself, too. You need those words from your followers and people. I wish for you to decide what's right for you and not for others or because of others who maybe might try to manipulate you negatively.
PS: I haven't posted a comment on FA for many years. This was an important message I wanted to reply to. Over and out.

I know as some random internet stranger this probably means nothing but I wish you the best in your future endeavors. It was awesome that you chose to share your work with the community in the first place and it can't be said your work wasn't appreciated. Here's to a bright future for you and success in your new profession!
It says in description tough decision..no matter how anyone else feels, whats important is Seyrmo wants and desires and what he feels like doing. there will be those who criticize and those who support the decision but with that said I am sure it wouldn't of been easy for him to decide to do this and would of been conflict on stopping or not....everyone who watched this artist supported the art cos im guessing they liked it..so time to support artist and what they want. (not claiming everyone is like that ofc)
So you want to give up your super successful endeavour here to get into – not only one, but two – completely over-saturated and highly competitive industries with zero guarantees for success?
To be honest, there is "follow your dreams" and then there is just being plain naive and stupid.

It's very interesting to see the surging view count of your galleries on various sites following the announcement. I'm sure your final stream will have quite a turnout!
Your art packs are still for sale on Gumroad. Any chance you'll be uploading a free pack of all the content that has been publicly available, since you'll be deleting your galleries?

Look, I understand if you want to take a break or retire. Every artist has a right to do so.
The thing that I, and many others in this comment section are not fine with, is the fact that you're deleting all of your art. Just because you're retiring doesn't mean you have to destroy everything that people know you for. Not only that, but it seems to have given some people the impression that your paid art is now a case of "Buy it now, or it's gone forever." You don't have to nuke your entire gallery just so you can "resist the temptation," I'm sure you'll find something else that you'll love doing, in which case, you'll forget all about it.
And to those who say "He has a right to do whatever the fuck he wants, including deleting his gallery," I would like to remind you that his art is what brought you and I here in the first place. Saying it's okay for them to delete it all is like saying you never even cared about their art to begin with. I'm not an entitled cunt, I'm just stating that deleting his gallery is a bad decision, especially when the paid art is taken into consideration.

It's your prerogative to delete your account and leave. It's everyone else's prerogative to archive it so it's not needlessly lost forever for no good reason. As an artist, it horrifies me to see people throwing away literal years of work like this. Thank you at least for the forewarning so we were able to save it from destruction.
