Well, I've finally upgraded it to arming coif, adding some serious padding so it can absorb hits on my head, and as a bonus, the fitting of the coif and my spangenhelm. I'm not wearing my maille coif because I need to expand it now to fit (as the arming coif goes beneath it).
As soon as my burned hand gets better, I'll do that :)

I know the theory as I've done other things in metal, but 1mm steel which makes an "acceptable" ammount of noises, right now I'm finishing a pair of spaulders. Helmets, to be usefull, need at least 2mm thick steel to protect your head (since I fight in reenactment events, I try to not get an axe embedded onto my skull xD)
The starter would be what kind of gladiator you want to represent (since the romans had several kinds based on the civilizations they've conquered), that'd be a good starting point to give you tips.

The kind of one that looks like it’s got holes punched/drilled into it, can’t remember the name of it but I plan on taking that idea and revamping the hell outta it
