My Favorite Star is Betelgeuse ^^
He "was" one or the brights Star in the Night Sky of the northern hemisphere.
but for Weeks he gets darker and darker....
Is his Light just Fluctuating or is it acutely his end? OwO
Ps. it is also the right Shoulder of Orion ^^
On top it is the original picture and the bottom on is with a lot more Contrast ^^
In the red Circle is Betelgeuse ^^

My first guess was that it should be atmospheric disturbances, maybe slight cloud coverage, since Betelgeuse is a red supergiant and should remain one for quite a while (from our perspective, that is).
