Oh yes. . . here it is. At last. The piece of shit cabin y'all have heard so much about. Oh. . . and one of my sheds. . . there in the corner.
Isn't it beautious? Like a piece of dung frozen in the bitter tundra.
In all seriousness, though. . . despite having no insulation, EXTREMELY sub-par electricity and plumbing, you'd never know when you walk inside that it's not a normal house. Well. . . unless you saw my heating bill. Then. . . you'd poop your pants. But really. . . it's quite the cozy little thing, inside. I spent a LOT of time personally re-doing the interior, right down to an entirely new kitchen (all of which was refurbished, re-painted, mismatching cabinets, which were FREE from a construction site) every wall and ceiling re-painted, and a bathroom that was quite LITERALLY a hole in the floor before we got to it. It may be a shitty, shitty little place. . . but I've put a lot of sweat, blood, and MONEY into it, to make it my own.
Shame I'm renting it. . . . Although for what I pay, in NY, you couldn't even get a studio, let alone on 14 beautiful acres. . . so the refurbishing was worth it.
Now if I could get rid of my crazy landlord, all would be well. . . .

Wanna trade? Our house is insulated SO well...that in winter time is pretty warm, and in summer time it's like living in an oven. Our AC usage piggybacks on our electricity bill. Hello $600/mo summer time cooling bill. D: Needless to say last summer we ran the AC at a warm 75F because going cooler would have meant that nasty $600/mo bill again. D: Granted, that bill entails cooling (and all other electricity) for a 1,800 sq. ft. house, so I'm sure in a cabin scenario it would be less.
Your cabin looks cute though! You should post interior photos too :)

Actually, it looks rather cozy; it's the type of place that I'd like to have (but with insulation!).
Don't know if you've seen Atomicat's place (atomicat.livejournal.com/profile); he's in a barn (insulated, with a wood stove, but no running water) in central Manitoba (much worse winters than you).
The snow and trees make it look so peaceful!

Even though you have a douche of a landlord, you're still on 14 acres out in the country. There is so much value in living in a location like that, and I'm not talking about money value. Lucky! Now, we need to make you luckier and get rid of that douche landlord
