Well, because I'm not a gamer, when I see the actual characters or when I see other fan art of them, it kind of jars me a little. I'm so used to your slash-fiction interpretation of them. In fact, I kind of like your gay-lover versions of the characters better. They seem a little bit meaner in the game.
I love their in-game selves, really. Most of the reason I am fond of pairing them together is Heavy's in-game lines directed to Medic, because they're pretty much all adorable to me.
