A few months ago, a strange thought entered my head: A frog character who, when eaten by somebody else, ends up getting that predator high due to the toxins in their skin.
What I drew, I'm... not entirely sure I like. I mean, I like Joanna as a character and a concept, just not my depiction of her. Turns out skinny, creepy frog girls are NOT easy for amateur artists!
Anyway, my own *CRIPPLING SELF DOUBT* aside, I tried to play into the "poisonous" theme as much as possible with Joanna, right down to giving her a skull and crossbones on her shirt. The idea for her hat was a suggestion from a friend, after I was struggling incredibly hard on what I could put up there to avoid it looking weird; bald, she looked way too plain and very cartoonish. With hair, it looked like she was in a cheap wig.
That hat, more than anything, might be what salvages the design for me. When I end up having Joanna redrawn by a better artist, I'm definitely going to allow them to take whatever creative liberties they like with her to make it work.
