In February 2010, my area was hit by two snowstorms in the space of a week, part of the region’s snowiest winter in recorded history. The first one dropped about two feet of white stuff on us, and the second one added another six inches for good measure.

I live on a small, residential side street that didn’t see a plow until nearly a week after the first storm, so we were pretty effectively snowed in. With nowhere to go and tons of raw material lying about in great big heaps after we shoveled out some of the street, my creative urges began to tingle.

This is the result: a bust of my fursona sculpted out of snow and ice, with sticks composing his mane and some of his most prominent markings. I’m pleased enough with it to share it here. My fursona, Kinto, is a wild ass, most similar to a kiang. I told the neighbors it was a donkey; it was easier to explain.

It lasted for less than twelve hours; the night after my artistic outburst the county finally sent some heavy equipment around to properly clear our street. Since I’d built this at the end of the driveway and it was technically in the street… long story short, plow drivers are philistines.
