The gist of it is that toys are so overly packaged that its really quite annoying. With photos of the sort of toys I mean.

This was very interesting. I bought a scale car one time and they had somehow managed to loop twisty wires through through both front a rear wheel axles. That was a very tight space and it was hard to remove.

I also bout the trans-am from Smokey and the Bandit...

I keep a small wire cutter to deal with those.

I couldn't cut it because it ran under the plastic bottom of the car.

Definitely made me smile. I remember my intense frustration the first time I bought something in one of those hard plastic containers that turn into a deadly weapon when you try to open it. That particular method of packaging has drawn blood from me at least once in the past.

So true. Of my dirty little collectible toy habit, the Star Wars die-cast starship figures and the Nerf guns are HEAVILY wired down to the packaging.

Yup, and as I work in retail, I'll tell you, it's amazing. Things you can't open at home with an acetylene torch, some meatball will peel open to steal.

Spot on and it's bloody irritating indeed. I collect toy aircraft and those wire twists are the worst and yet most seem to come packaged that way now. Some toys I've not been able to get out of the packing without a screwdriver too - really handy for kids, I'm sure.
