Update on this electric aircraft. The Alice caught fire on the ramp at approximately 640 pm on 1 22 2020.

Oops! I'm an EV enthusiast and have been one for years. A small electric light plane is doable with current battery technology. To make large-scale electric planes viable the battery technology is not there yet.

I know, I work just across the runway from their hanger. I had been waiting to see the testing and flight testing for months now. Day of the photo they had a fire truck standing by during a power up. The next day same thing then something with the electrical system cooked off, smoke pouring from the cockpit - good thing they were doing the powerup remotely - cables running from cockpit to some computers on a table in front of the Alice. Fire Dept was on that one for a while and Prescott PD evacuating homes next to the airport/city golf course.

that sounds like they have something in there that could be catastrophic if burned... sounds pretty dangerous with all those precautions...

Lithium Ion battery system and Carbon fiber airframe. We had to shelter in the factory till the fire was put out.

I'll have to look for that one soon, thanks for the tip on it. Someone was acting as an agent for Rabbit Valley at the con - had a wide assortment of books and comics for sale. I saw that one - hmmm Dark Natasha art and whoa, I know the author's name from FA - figured give it a try and bought it.

*chuckles... that was my first book. I still credit Dark Natasha with getting me started in writing. There is also my website - everything there is free.
