An illustration for a side story between these 2 love birds living in Florence in the early 1600s. The return of my friend's fursona but instead of the angel, he is with a fox who was once a monk living in Spain.
Here they have took a trip away from the rich city of Florence (you can see it in the background) having a private moment together. Giving the time period and context, they obviously have to keep their love a secret. I think the wolf looks gorgeous in the armor.
My primary reference while working on this was a painting by Paris Bordone of the Roman gods Mars and Venus. This was finished back in May 2019 and my first major piece to digitally color with my Cintiq tablet. A friend of mine let me have some of her phtoshop brushes which were really helpful while painting the grass.
