Palutena gives Medusa the task to help mortals after the events of Kid Icarus Uprising, as punishment for her actions against mortals in the past. Hoping to redeem her for her aggressive actions against mortals, she hopes this will inspire her and bring her back into the side of the light gods.
Medusa works on helping humans and improving their lives, either by defending them from monsters or by stopping natural disaster. They're afraid of her visage, a dark remnant of her old self when millenia ago she would destroy entire cities for fun, but they eventually start to accept her, and even wlecome her help.
A human becomes her first acolyte, one of many followers to come. Reaching the peak of the highest cliff, this mortal calls her name and praises her work, thanking the goddess for all the good she's done for his people. She feels a new sensation growing inside her, filling her soul with joy and pride.
"Is this what Palutena feels all the time? The reason behind her altruism and care for these mortal creatures...?" Medusa blushes, trying to control her emotions, but her snakes react to the praises with joy and love.
Perhaps this could be the start of her redemption into a goddess of light to return along Palutena's side?
