This week’s prompt was a visual prompt suggested by
yelleena and given to us by
wolfrider It is dedicated to the First Responders fighting the Australian wild fires.
WolfRider has included a very loving testimonial with the image and a link to the Red Cross if you would like to send a donation. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34445038/
Even though the fires have not been in the news lately, the damage is still there.

This is why firefighters are always mentioned in the same breath as policemen and doctors when someone tells kids who the heroes are. Doctors fight disease, cops fight crime and firefighters fight... well the name says it all, doesn't it? And all of these foes are deadly and implacable. They will sneak up on you and devour you in no time. And without someone willing to stand against the foes, the rest of us would live with a lot more fear in our lives.
Thank you for reminding us who the heroes are, Ms. V.

Part of me wants to stop reading the stories, seeing the news etc but such things should be witnessed. My brother got lucky... a few days ago a grass fire took off from his neighbours house started by an idiot with an angle grinder. It came to the borders of his property and then the wind changed and went in the opposite direction. It truly is a gamble on a monumental scale. Good story Vixyy *hugs*
It takes quite a lot to put ones life on the line like that, especially when up against a fire so out of control, the responders to both the Amazon and the Austrailian bush fires are heroes in the truest sense.
Especially since, unlike Notre Dame, neither the Amazon or the Bush cannot easily be rebuilt so to speak.
Quite a poignant tale you've written here, Vixyy.

Not if they're parts that have been retired. Those are a dwindling supply. *glances at collection of BIONICLE pieces that have various cracks and breaks* I mean, sure, there's 3-D printing, but LEGO would likely take such files down, and they wouldn't be of the same quality.
