Maybe Joseph succeeded in inflating Boris with his inflation raygun, also meaning he invented something that actually works, while he rarely succeeds doing so. However, he didn't predict his shape and size would be easily used by Boris as an advantage to teach the rat a lesson, forcing him to have a double date with Boris's belly and the glass wall ;)
