Here's yet another character for the Karate Krane story I've been working on, Michelle; Chris' little (or maybe—in terms of muscle mass—not-so-little) crush.
When I first designed her, I initially imagined her personality in the story being similar to that of Tigress from Kung Fu Panda and Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon, first-film-wise, in that she's at first pretty—for lack of a better word—"distant" from Chris but later warms up to him and eventually they end up together. However, I've lately come to imagine her being a lot more friendly to Chris and always willing to stand up for him when needs be. I definitely still imagine them pairing together at some point, but I don't think I'll have as cold towards him at the beginning.
She's a pretty lively, energetic, upbeat, as well as tough, assertive, confident kind of girl who's not afraid to speak her mind or stand up for her friends when they can't stand up for themselves. She may be into things your average teenage girl usually is, like shopping and what not, but she's also got a tomboyish side to her and a thing for heavy-duty workouts — I've even pictured her trying to teach Chris how to spit properly like in this scene from Titanic; the two of 'em sorta fit into the "Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy" trope that way, and a few other ways. I imagine she sorta compliments Chris' personality-wise in that she's a lot more confident than he is and will gladly encourage and support him in things he wouldn't normally have to confidence to initiate himself.
As said before, Chris has a bit of crush on Michelle, having a thing for tough, strong girls, neither of such things he would willingly admit — I myself share his taste in women, so if there are any such ladies out there with a spunky personality who aren't afraid to take the upper hand in certain things (if you catch my drift) and dig a docile, more passive kind of guy who's totally down with being on the receiving end, please feel free to look me up.
I'd also originally drawn her with Chinese words for "strength" tattooed onto her biceps, but I wasn't sure what her parents might think of that. Whatchu guys think?
Hope you guys all like her, and please share your thoughts with me. Thank you!
