I don't think it looks very fail. The outlining looks nice... just un-subtle enough.

What kind of outlining pens did you use?

hmm I'm not quite sure, I usually go for ones with the slightly bendy, hardy metal nibs but this time - not so much luck. the nibs were too thick + my style.
