I recently took a trip to Toronto and had the chance to visit the Mountsberg Raptor Centre - I was beyond thrilled to get the chance to handle a variety of amazing birds - including Teddy, the barred owl. Barred owls are my absolute favorite owl, and one of my favorite birds.

It's amazing how different birds can be - even within parrots some are rough, some are smooth, some are fluffy or silky. The owls have that softer-than-you-can-sense sort of silky softness - like a chinchilla or rabbit. :) Also the smell - that's one of my favorite things about handling different birds is to get a good whiff of the feathers - owls have an incredible, unique scent to them!

I've said nearly that same sentence more than a few times before. They are such wonderful birds. I'm jealous though enthralled you were able to connect with one on that level. Beautiful. I can't wait to move back to MN. I would love to spend some time with you, if you were available.
Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you now? :)
