The next race I'm working on are called the noksha, and the noksha don't necessarily come in humanoid form. They are spirits that have been reincarnated as a type of noksha. However, the spirit has no recollection of their past life. Therefore, they could've been a part someone's family fomerly, but neither would know about it.
This particular noksha, called the penghou, takes the form of a plant-like dog. They are generally playful, but any harm that comes to the forest or one of their own will cause them to immediately attack.
