If "the past that haunts us" could be drawn visually, it would be this.

Speaking of books, my dad gave me the first three books in The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. Some of the imagery, and certainly many of the creatures, would make for good art material.

Based on some of the references made, I presume the author is Catholic. There are many clear and subtle references to the Bible and the Mass, even though some are inverted.
