If cameras/film is new tech to them then they did pretty good. Our first films required you stay motionless for a while - or be blinded by a large flash of powder. (Heck, as a kid I remember the spots before my eyes after having a flashbulb go off.)
Though I do have to wonder about the idiot not even looking at them before presenting them as any proof.
