This is a quick and dirty tool I made out of some rebar. The rebar it self is actually hardenable steel, though I wouldn't recommend any other smith going about using rebar, since it's really not that great for much when it comes to forging things, unless you figure out a way to make it suit your purpose.
The use this thing will have is to drift a hole in a nail header I plan on making and to possible serve me further on different projects if it proves to be useful.
Honestly, rebar isn't all that bad. I make a few things from it, it's not the best steel to have, but if you have it, then use it.
Most smiths have a bit of disdain to it and turn their nose up in the air ,because it's not really a professional steel to work with, this is kind of true. It's the bottom of the barrel variety of steel, since the stuff is so different with each and every segment you come across. The alloy compositions are varied depending on what this stuff is acting as reinforcement for.
